My Everyday Make up Routine

Recently I have been quite content with my everyday make up look and the products I frequently use, (although this is bound to change anytime soon!), so here is an in-depth description on how I apply my make up and what products I use. Hopefully this helps at least one person who is reading to either go for a product they were deliberating over or gives you (a little bit of) inspiration at least!

My Everyday Makeup Look!

Firstly – I apply the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer all over the face with my fingers, as it feels and blends like a cream or moisturiser which I find really nice as it glides onto the face beautifully. I love this primer as it gives such a lovely illumination, and it genuinely help to keep my foundation on for longer. However, ensure that you leave it a few minutes before applying foundation so it can properly absorb into the skin.

I then apply the L’Oreal Paris True Match foundation in ‘Golden Ivory’ which is a great everyday foundation as it blends into the skin incredibly easy which means it doesn’t take long to apply and build upon. I apply this foundation with a beauty blender which gives me a flawless look.

Accessorize Eye Wardrobe

After foundation I go in and do my eye shadow. (I feel like I apply my make up in a really weird order!) Recently, I’ve been loving the Accessorize Eye Wardrobe which I’ve had for donkeys years, but it’s only been recently that I have properly tried it and appreciated it. I apply the top left pink eyeshadow, which is surprisingly really long-lasting and pigmented considering this palette is from a shop specialising in accessories, (obviously!). It gives such a lovely illuminated colour which I adore as it brightens my eyes up immediately. Then on my crease I apply the dark brown colour which is on the bottom row, two left in from the right which gives more dimension to my eyes. I then apply the matte shade ‘Tease’ from the naked 2 palette and put it all above the lid, just below the brow bone which looks really pretty and adds more colour and definition.

I then get a big fluffy brush just to blend my eyeshadow in to make it a bit less harsh!

For mascara I use the Rimmel London Volume Flash Max Bold Curves, which I apply to both my top and bottom lashes as it gives them so much volume and length which is perfect! However, because it has a spooned brush I do find that it gets on my upper lid sometimes when I apply it – which is a nightmare and a pain to get off without ruining my eyeshadow!!

I then fill in my brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Medium Brown. To apply this product I simply dip the brush in and draw two lines, one along to top line of my brow and the other one of the bottom line of my brow as an outline, ensuring that there is more product on the tail of my brow so they are more defined, and less near the front so it looks a bit more realistic. I simply follow the shape of my brow without over drawing, and then fill them in! This product is amazing as it stays on all day without worrying that your brows are on your nose or have smudged, plus they look quite natural too! I apply this product with the Zoeva 322 Brow Line brush which I adore as the bristles are so smooth, it helps the product to glide on perfectly. Plus, the angled brush means I can easily access any sparse hair and angle my brows the way I want.. PERFECT!

I then use the Soap&Glory WONDERBRONZE and pop the highlight colour on my brow bone to give it that extra bit of shine, which looks so pretty and glowy!

It’s at this point where I conceal my awful under eye bags, with the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade ‘1 Fair’, which I apply to my face where any redness occurs. I firstly do a triangular shade under my eyes, and then pat it in with my finger which hides any blueness and bagginess.. Gross. I then pop some under my nose or any spots I have and blend that in too. This concealer has got a heavy coverage which I love and stay on a long time if you set it. Plus, it’s so inexpensive and long-lasting which makes it even more desirable.

I then powder my entire face with the Rimmel London Stay Matte powder in ‘002 Pink Blossom’ as it’s such a good powder that keeps my make up in place for the day. I apply that with the Mac 187 brush as the bristles are so soft and it’s perfect to apply and blend with!

The Products I use on my Face

For contour I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, ‘Light to Medium’ in the powder version. I first use ‘Java’ on the hollows of my cheek bones for contour which I love as it seems like I actually have good cheek bones, (I’m only fooling myself!), I then use ‘Fawn’ on my forehead to give myself that slightly bronzed look. I then contour my nose slightly by drawing two parallel lines down the side of my nose as it then appears a bit smaller.

I use the Real Techniques ‘Contour Brush’ as the brush itself is of a really great size, and it makes my contour stand out and look good! To finish, I then use the shade ‘Banana’ and pop it down the bridge of my nose for highlight.

At this point I normally apply some form of lip product, today I chose to wear the Soap&Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Lacquer, which I love! The colour is a beautiful matte deep pink that can be effortlessly worn throughout the day. The formula is also very moisturising which is of course very beneficial for the lips, and it leaves a lovely glow.

Now, last but not least, for highlight I use Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in ‘Soft and Gentle’, which I apply with my fingers to all the high points on my face, for example on my cheek bones, down the bridge of my nose and on my cupids bow.

What products do you use for your everyday make up? Are you using any products that you love and would recommend?

Much Love,

  1. Lovely post, I have very similar every day products to you 🙂 although I am yet to get my hands on Anastasia Beverly Hills! So Jealous 🙂 P.S You should do a post on your haircare – your hair is so healthy-looking, thick and long!!! 🙂 xx

  2. I definitely want to try the Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade. Your eyebrows look so natural. I’ve been using the Mac brow pencil and I find it kind of a pain in the tush to use! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thank you so much Claudia, I would definitely recommend it! It took me a couple of tries to get to grips with it and for the product to give me a natural look, but now it takes me minutes each mornings! xx
